Fine Cartoon Art

exaggerated, in a good way

Fly Your Freak Flag… for $25 per Frame

Posted by jtebeau on April 1, 2010

Happily shameless plug for an all-time favorite of mine, on it’s way to the big screen.

Not sure if we can call this “fine”, but it’s definitely cartoon art. Gilbert Shelton’s Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers movie is once away under production, this time in stop-motion 3D. Look for “Grass Roots” to come to your local theater… oh… you know… when it gets done, dude.

The Freaks in 3D

And, in a creative step toward funding, the producers are offering you freaks out there the chance to sponsor frames of the movie for $25 each, a full 24-frame second of screen time going for $500. The name of each sponsor will appear at the bottom right of the screen, not unlike the logos on network TV.
